Currently seeking an Asset Accounting and Business Tax Supervisor for a permanent oportunity (possibly temp to perm) opportunity located in South Houston for a healthcare company. 

Position Profile:  

  • Preparing capital expenditure reports 
  • Compiling asset addition documents 
  • Recording fixed asset additions and calculating and recoding depreciation expense 
  • Preparing the franchise tax filing
  • Property tax renditions and business license permits 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Knowledgeable in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for revenue recognition, lease accounting, accrual accounting, company policies and procedures, and franchise tax and property tax reporting requirements for local tax areas
  • Establishes and maintans the Fixed Asset Registers for healthcare and hospitality companies by performing the following tasks not limited to: 1) Preparing capital expenditure requests, compiles supporting documents, and obtains appropriate level approvals for payment. 2)Tracks the compilation of remodeling projects into fixed asset accounts and closes out those accounts once projects are completed. 
  •  Prepares tax filings and renditions for Sales & Use taxes, Property Taxes, and Business licenses for 40 plus registered companies by performing the following tasks, not limited to: 1) Compiles tax data for reporting sales and use taxes, property taxes, business licenses into standard tax reporting formats accurately and timely 2) Reviews tax reporting data to identify and correct data anomalies
  • Reconciles assigned balance sheet accounts according to company policy by subsequent month, and ensures any reconciling items are property documented and resolves to escalated to management in a timely manner
  • Provides external auditors with financial process documents, balance sheet account reconciliations, and supplemental financial schedule for quarterly reviews and year end audits


  • College Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience 
  • Accounting experience - 6 plus years preferred
  • Healthcare industry a plus
  • Business Tax experience- 4 plus years preferred
  • Quickbooks experienced preferred
  • MS Office Suite proficiency required 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Must be knowledgeable in Generally Accepting Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax accounting, accounting procedures, billing systems
  • Must understand company operating processes and system functionality, and apply accounting and business knowledge, and mathematical concepts in analysis and resolution of problems 
  • Must be proficient or become proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Quickbooks application, and related subsystems, and database applications
